Helpful Advice For Those Receiving Healing
(For guidance only - don’t worry if you can’t
remember it all at the time!)
Just
before your healing session
Get yourself into a calm relaxed state as much as possible.
Avoid rushing around beforehand. Let go of any worrying
thoughts you may be carrying round with you, or anything
which has been happening to you recently. Tell your
healer about anything which is bothering you, and how
you have been since the last session but try to detach
yourself from it all before the healing actually starts.
Prepare yourself beforehand with some positive affirmations.
e.g. “I am now totally receptive to the healing
energy” or “I now receive wonderful healing
which I know is helping me”. Use words which you
feel comfortable with to get yourself into a positive
state of mind. It is important to be as positive about
it all as you can, as this helps the healing energy
to flow through you and put right whatever is wrong.
During
the Healing Session
All you need to do is allow yourself to relax. Don’t
try too hard ... just allow it to happen. Sink into
the chair and let go. Your healer will guide you. The
more relaxed you are the more you can help the healing
energy to flow. Think peaceful, positive, pleasant thoughts.
Remember that this is your time, your own special time
for healing, so outside concerns can safely be left
aside. If worrying or everyday, mundane thoughts intrude,
just let them go as soon as you become aware of them
and continue with your affirmations quietly in your
mind. Use the ones you felt comfortable with before
e.g. “I am now totally receptive to the healing
energy” or “I now receive wonderful healing
which I know is helping me.
If you find yourself getting tense, or pain is a distraction
and stops you relaxing, don’t worry about it -
the healing will still flow even if you can’t
get as relaxed as you would like to do.
After
the healing session
Try to have a rest or a lie down immediately afterwards
if possible, or as soon as you can manage it as this
helps the healing energy to continue working in you.
Affirm, “The healing energy continues to work
in me for my greatest good”.
Between
Sessions
Any time you can sit down and relax quietly by yourself,
close your eyes and relax and try to imagine that you
are having healing. You can say a little prayer or affirmation
asking for healing to come to you, but just remembering
the feelings and experiences you had during healing,
however slight or subtle they were will help to bring
more healing to you. If you can play quiet music or
light a candle to ‘set the scene’ it will
help to make the experience more real for you. Imagine
that a golden light of healing energy is enfolding you,
or that there are healing angels around you, whatever
you feel comfortable with. Then just sit in that healing
light for as long as you wish, enjoying it and knowing
that you are receiving more healing.
Each morning, look at yourself in the mirror, look into
your own eyes and say firmly and confidently, “Every
day in every way I am getting better and better”.
Say it several times to yourself and whenever you remember.
And know without doubt that it is happening.
These
are all ways you can help the healing process yourself.
Your healer may have some ideas for you too.
The Healing Minute
Every night at 10pm. healers link up in prayerful thought
to send distant healing to the sick. A worthwhile way
to help yourself and to receive additional healing is
to sit quietly at this time or lie in bed comfortably
and link in thought with them.
